About Me - theGardenPages

Laura Z of theGardenPages

I live in sunny southern California, USDA zone 10 with an average 7 inches of rainfall a year.
I use a pitchfork, elbow grease and compost to improve my heavy, clay soil and a compost pile created in a container from a cool LA County Water Conservation program.

The primary focus of my blog is drought tolerant plants, California natives and succulents (they're less prickly than cactus). Four years ago I began planting only drought-tolerant landscape plants and last year I turned off the sprinklers for good. You too can turn off your sprinklers and still enjoy beautiful flowering plants in your garden too!
